Probably the best lifestyle trend in the millennial generation that we should have is outwardly squeezing the best out of life!
We see them all around us--people who are boldly pushing their own limits. There are backpackers traveling for months on end, daredevils casually skydiving whenever they want to, a 70-year old man joining countless marathons. And whether we admit it or not, deep down, we silently envy the guts and courage of these people possess. It is certainly but a dream to lead a life that we truly want and just do the things that we are really passionate about, and just take in the best things that the world has to offer.
The carpe diem kind of living is what the Rexona philosophy is all about—to simply Do: More. Be it fearlessly leaping to the adventure of your life, conquering your fears, or opening yourself to the wildest possibilities that your existence can handle in this lifetime, this season’s Rexona Do More Campaign simply encourages you to live your life to the flyest way possible.’
And seriously, isn’t that the exact thing that you want, anyway?
Doers just do it
Sometime the best way to check off the items in our bucket list and get things done is to simply do it. Making lists of to-do’s and planning the “perfect time” to actually do the things we want most of the time lead to procrastinating, or not doing it at all. So just take the plunge, hit the road and sail to the sea of uncertainty!
But just in case you need fellas to inspire you in letting the good times roll, Rexona has got you covered.
One of “Rexona’s Doers” is the country’s football royalty, Phil Younghusband. This new brand ambassador embodies the phrase taking things to the next level. Being one of the most valuable and popular members of the Philippine Azkals and the Loyola Meralco Sparks Football Club, we all thought that Phil would be comfortably sitting on his football supremacy throne. But that is certainly not the case for this accomplished athlete. “Football is my life, and for me to have this burning passion of mine to intensify its flame all the more, I feel like I need to share it,” said Younghusbands .
Phil has taken his love for football a step further by co-founding the Younghusband Football Academy, an entity that aims to train kids who want to learn and pursue football. With a level 2 UEFA coaching badge under his belt, Phil hopes to promote and develop young Filipinos’ skill and passion for the sport. This inspiring endeavor ultimately spreads a deeper appreciation for football in the country, epitomizing the “Do-More” mindset of Rexona.
“Coaching football and being with the kids definitely give me satisfaction. Just knowing that I am imparting my knowledge in this sports to this younger generation makes me feel like I am truly doing more with my life, “Phil shared. “I play in the morning and I coach every afternoon. I believe that pursuing things that make you happy does not feel like you are spending too much time. Going for what you want in life is actually doing more, and I am happy that a brand like Rexona actually inspires us to do just that, to do more with our lives.
Younghusband also commends Rexona as it advocates supporting aspiring football players in the country through its own initiatives. “Rexona also helps athletes in the country. Who knows, maybe the next big international football athlete will come from this program.”
Phil totally believes that one can imbibe Rexona’s Do More mindset by being happy with what you are doing. “Find something that you love. Be confident with what makes you happy. Find confidence by pursuing your passion. Push yourself out there and just put your heart into it.”
Another “Doer” that Rexona recognizes is TV personality Bianca Gonzales. With her celebrity position and influence, Bianca exemplifies the Do More lifestyle by empowering the youth and promoting education. She was named one of the 2012’s Young Global Shapers by the World Economic Forum—yet another reason why Rexona believes that Gonzales personifies its Do More Campaign as she can truly go to the extremes in her life by not putting limitations to herself.
“I believe it is important that you don’t limit yourself with what you truly want to do. As for me, I really love doing projects that create awareness about education and youth empowerment—that is when I feel like I truly do more with my life,” shared Bianca.
“I am happy to be part of Rexona’ s Do More Campaign, especially since I really believe in its philosophy. Personally, I think it does not take much to do more, we just have to want to,”
Balancing her demanding job, spending time with loved ones and her advocacies, Bianca still finds time to squeeze time to pursue her passion which is traveling.
As she explores the world during her break time, the Rexona female brand ambassador also collects photos of herself while doing cartwheels.
“I collect cartwheel shots whenever I travel, and I actually ask total strangers to take my photo. Now that is Rexona Do More actualized as it takes a lot of confidence to do that!” Gonzales quipped. “Aside from taking photos, I love exploring the cuisine and culture of a certain place whenever I travel. People often wonder how I find time to travel. I simply ask for short breaks in between working, and I think everyone should do that, to take a break from our busy lives.”
When asked what was the most exhilarating thing she has done lately, that truly illustrates the Rexon’sa Do More philosophy, Bianca shared her death-defying skydiving experience in Monterey Bay Hangar in California, USA.
“It was 1 a.m. on January 1, 2013, and I was the very first to do skydiving in Monterey. It was really terrifying yet fun, and I felt like I truly did what I want to do this year—to be fearless, and that is what I want my 2013 to be,” Bianca said.
It might be draining for some to do a lot of things altogether, but not for Bianca who literally and figuratively wants to do more with her life.
“I believe that you should do and go for what you truly want. It could make you feel tired, but it is the fulfilling kind of tired and that makes it worth it,” the female Rexona Doer said. “We should not say ‘been there, done that’. Treat everything as a new thing and do not mind what everyone is saying as long as you are doing what makes you happy.”
Seize the Day with Rexona
With maximum confidence to do more, nothing should hold you back from pursuing your ambitions, aspirations and passions. Rexona wants you to do something you never thought you’d be able to do and to surprise yourself by doing more.
“The Do-More philosophy of Rexona is more than just being active. It is a call to be heard, to fuel your inner passion, to travel and go on an adventure, to act with confidence, to crave for excitement, and of course, to inspire us more to truly savor life. You can do more with Rexona because your body is protected, and that can give you confidence to explore and do more,” said Mar Corazo, Rexona brand manager.
For years, Rexona has lived out its own philosophy by creating projects that inspire worthwhile activities. One of these programs is called Teenweek.Com, a program that teaches the students not only about hygiene, but as well as handling personal issues, relationships and self-empowerment through informative talks and forums. Part of this program is featuring one story of a student in overcoming insecurities and gaining confidence by finding one’s identity.
To truly complete its Do More campaign, Rexona invites all individuals to kick-start an active lifestyle by joining the Annual Rexona Run on October 20.
“It does not matter whether you’re a regular runner or a newbie. It is about challenging yourself b y doing something new. With Rexona, you can always feel confident knowing you’re protected all throughout the day, no matter what you are doing,” Corazo concluded.
